Foreword
This year marks the twenty-fifth anniversaryof the admission of women into the Universityand so it has seemed fitting that it should bethe occasion of a general alumnae reunion. Itis with pleasure that we, the members of theU. N. C. Woman’s Association, welcome youback to your Alma Mater, you pioneers in thecause of coeducation in North Carolina. Weonly wish it were possible for you all to bewith us for this commencement but since it isnot, in order to introduce you to each other, wehave published this little pamphlet in which wehave tried to list every girl who has studied atthe University since Mary MacRae registeredtwenty-five years ago.
We wish to thank each one of you for theinterest you have shown in your answers to thequestionnaires we sent out. For the sake ofthose who could not read these we regret thatwe could not quote them all in toto, but wefound it necessary to confine ourselves to a fewfacts in each case.
We hope you are going to enjoy this reunion—somuch so, indeed, that you will want to comeback often. It is certain that there is a brightfuture ahead of coeducation here at the University,and it is up to us who have staked ourclaim on the frontier line to help push on intothe fairer land beyond. The interest and aidof our alumnae will mean a great deal in carryingon the good work, always with this goal inview—that the same pride our brothers feelin being Carolina men may thrill our hearts atthe thought of being Carolina women.
