There are two orthree kinds of Goats:One kind is called anI-bex, another a Chamois,and the other aGoat. This is an Ibex,and his horns are different[Pg 3]from the tame goatwho has a long beard.The Ibex runs over thehighest rocks as easilyas you can run on thisfloor, though his feet arebut four little hoofs.So also can the Goat.—Iheard of two goats[Pg 4]who met on a narrowridge on the side of avery high rock, as highas the Old-South steeple,and neither couldturn out, nor go back,nor pass along, the pathwas so narrow. Whatwere these two poorgoats to do? If theyfell, it would have killedthem directly, andthere they stood cryingand no one couldhelp them, because noone could get near to[Pg 5]them.
